The village of Babitsa is situated in the famous municipality of Breznik and the district of Pernik. The location of that wonderful place is only 30,503km away from the famous capital city of Sofia and the population of the village is only 52 inhabitants(to 01/01/2006), the area size is 13,121sq. m and the post code (ZIP) of the village is 2365. The municipality of Breznik is favorite place for relaxation surrounded with their natural sights and monuments of culture. One of the natural and tourist sights of Breznik municipality is Bardoto forest park. The park has the hotel restaurant Bardoto with modern facilities and an open swimming pool; Brezite tourist hut with modern rooms, traditional cuisine, good opportunities for recreation and entertainment - horse riding, paintball. The locality is renowned for its "iron" mineral water, which springs from the southern part of the Leskov Dol hill. Of special importance is St. Petka church, the monastery school, the megalith temple - well Pousto Garlo, the Tsarnogorski and Bilinski monasteries, ruins of Middle Ages churches, houses of architectural and art-features value (the twin-house in Kosharevo village, the houses with wooden verandas in Razhavets village). The favorable nature and the available resources create good conditions for development of rural, cultural and hunting tourism. About the wonderfulness district of Pernik, located among three mountains, the territory of the district abounds in natural sights and has rich cultural-historical heritage, mineral springs and artificial lakes. The Krakra fortress is the symbol of the city. It is located in a smallish rocky plateau in the southwestern part of Pernik city. It is a monument of culture of national importance. The Palace of Culture Municipal Complex hosts the following on an area of 4,250 sq. m: Drama Theater, General Scientific Library, Orpheus chamber orchestra, United Arts School, Intellectuals Club, etc. The Palace of Culture is a major cultural institution and is actively involved in the cultural events and intellectual life in Pernik city. Pernik city has a Historical Museum with 17,408 main exhibits and 37,890 additional exhibits. The museum also has a rich storage of photos showing the lifestyle, culture, and public and political life in Pernik region in the 19 - 20 c. The United Children's Complex is an entity for extra-curriculum pedagogy activities. It carries out a wide range of cultural, scientific-cognitive, information, sports and technical sphere activities with regular classes and subjects of interest to over 2,300 children. The Municipal Youth Home has as its major function the upbringing of young people with aesthetics taste by acquiring respect for culture; wise spending of the spare time; acquiring the common human values; creating conditions for development of young talents. One of the most widely known buildings is that of the Mining Directorate; in the same building is the Pernik Mines Administration. This building is an architectural monument of culture, which keeps unique works of art. It is designed in neo-classical style, and the interior is in Gothic style. In Pernik Municipality there are 4 monasteries and 16 churches, which are monuments to the Bulgarian Christian tradition. In January every even year Pernik city hosts the international festival of masquerade games. The festival is unique of its type and demonstrates the overall diverse range of masquerade games in Bulgaria. It preserves, enriches and recreates the most vital and lasting traditions in masquerade rituals, which the Bulgarian people has preserved from the most distant antiquity until nowadays. This festival is a kind of a review of the winter and spring rituals with masques, birds, animal heads made into masques, etc. The festival is a distinctive and unique event for the whole of Bulgaria. Since 1995 Pernik city is a member of the Foundation of European Festival Cities and is highly valued by the experts.So the village of Babitsa is situated in one of the best historical districts in Bulgaria and offer quiet and peacefulness, it is perfect place for relaxation surronded by nature you've never seen before.
