Wonderful place for relaxation of the cross of Balanovo village. The village is situated in South-West Bulgaria in Municipality of Dupnitsa, the District of Kyuostendil, in the middle part of the Rilla mountain which offer tranquilly and fresh and clean air surrounded by wonderful mountain nature, where you can gather with your family or friends, familiarize a rural Bulgaria. The village is big and the people are friendly. The area size of the village of Balanovo is 14, 398 km? and the population is about 414 inhabitants ( to 01/01/2006). The capital city of Sofia is situated within a short distance away from the village (only 52,33 km ). The Municipality of Dupnitsa is roundabout with natural sights and monuments of culture, some: The clock tower in Doupnitsa; the mosque in Doupnitsa. In the region there are remains of the palaces of Aaron, Roman water conduits, antique and Paleolithic settlements. Doupnitsa is the starting point of hiking tracks and routes to the different natural sights in Rila Mountain. The tourist infrastructure in Doupnitsa municipality is well developed: Ivan Vazov tourist hut; Rila hotel; Energo recreation home. All tourist trails in the region are well marked and made safe. The territory of Doupnitsa municipality is crossed by the international tourist route Е - 4 (the Alps - the Carpathians - Vitosha - Rila -Peloponnesus). The district of Kyustendil, consisting of nine Municipalities is one of the biggest district areas in Bulgaria, and it is very well developed, providing environmental protection and tourism. Some of the important benefits in the municipal development are the following: unique nature potential; thermal mineral springs with proven health-improving properties in balneology treatment (the water temperature is 74°C, the debit is 33 l/sec); available good raw materials /coniferous and deciduous forests, aggregates and others/. The warm mineral springs along with the health treatment centers provide an opportunity for procedures curative for the joints and muscular system, mud-treatment, stomach and intestinal treatment, infertility, post-operational recuperation, rehabilitation and others. The mineral water is also supplied to public baths, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a medical sauna. The high temperature and the large debit offer an opportunity for geothermal use of the water. Conditions for mountainous tourism development are in place in the Kyustendil. The Rila Mountain is 40 km away from Kyustendil.egion. There are a large number of mountain huts and shelters, as well as permanently marked routes in the Ossogovo Mountain, which has its beginning quite close to the town. This proximity is a condition for the development of winter and ski sports. The present infrastructure includes ski lifts, ski runs and hotels. The municipality is among the environmentally cleanest ones in Bulgaria. There are no production enterprises polluting the environment, which is a prerequisite for rural tourism. There is also a wealth of cultural and historical heritage from the Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the National Revival period, which is a prerequisite for cultural and rural tourism development.
