The village of Osoitsa is located in western Bulgaria in Gorna Malina Municipality part of Sofia Province. Gorna Malina is a village and a municipality which includes 14 settlements with 5964 residents. The village is situated in the southern slope of the magnificent Balkan Mountain. Two rivers passes through Osoitsa - Balaklia and Dî?bra Rå?ka. The people of Osoitsa are interested in animal husbandry, they breed buffalos, cows, sheep, goats, horses etc. Attractive places in the area are the lands of Laga, Manastircheto, Lilyaka, Prekrasta, Gadjovitsa, Usoeto, Thracian tombs in the lands of Dolna Babakevitsa and Dolna Babakevitsa. There is a small church, a school (built in the 60s), house-museum exposing objects gethered all around the world from a wealthy emigrant born in Osoitsa and now lives in Viena. Every year at Ascension Day (January the 6th) the local traditional fair takes place in the land of Manastircheto. The old name of the village was Pripechnitsa. The legend says that while the Turkish Bondage a lot of Ottoman Turks were living in this region and also they buried a lot of gold but no one knows where. In present days the village of Osoitsa is a well developed place providing all amenities needed for a normal living. The area offers good conditions for fishing and hunting.
