The village of Sirishtnik is located in Western Bulgaria, 20 km from the town of Radomir and 64 km from the Bulgarian capital – Sofia. The village of Sirishtnik belongs to Kovachevtsi municipality, Pernik region. The hamlet is an old, medieval settlement. It is nested in the right narrow valley of Svetlya River. About 3 km away is registered an ancient village. At an area of about 15 decares are situated archaeological materials from the settlement. In immediate proximity to the village are located remains from antique and medieval fortress. At the border of Sirishtnik and Kovachevtsi is located an antique funeral mound. The Kovachevtsi municipality is situated in western Bulgaria, 55 km southwestern from the capital city of Sofia and 25 km from the regional town – Pernik. The municipality is spreading on area extending to 139.10 sq. km. with population – 2084 inhabitants. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kovachevtsi. The municipality’s inhabitants are proud of their rich cultural inhabitance and history. In the lands of the municipality are found vestiges of ancient cultures – Thracian, Roman and Byzantine. An evidence for that is the ancient villages registered here – Sirishtnik, Kalishte, Rakilovtsi and many others.
