Stolnik

The village of Stolnik is very well developed, providing a medical service, a post office, a mobile service, shops and cafes. The hamlet is situated only 18 km away from the capital city of SOFIA and only 6 km from Elin Pelin. The village of stolnik is located at the foot of Stara Planina Mountain.
The hamlet of Stolnik is located in Elin Pelin Municipality, in Sofia region.
Elin Pelin Municipality is situated in the central part of Sofia District. Elin Pelin town is 24 km to the east of the capital city of Sofia in the eastern part of the Sofia field. The common border with Sofia Large Municipality is longer than 40 km. The territory of Elin Pelin Municipality is crossed by Hemous highway and Trakia highway, main road No. 6 and roads of 1st to 3rd class.The Municipality is a main transport junction and crossing point for the transport on both sides of the Balkan Range. There is also convenient connection to international road Е-79, which is a part of Trans-European Corridor No. 4. An important road communication is republican road No. 105 Elin Pelin town - Stolnik village, which connects the two above-mentioned highways. Railway transport is very well developed. On the territory of the Municipality there are two main railway stations: Elin Pelin station and Stolnik station. Both stations have a very good engineering infrastructure. Railway transport might be a favorable factor in the development of the industrial zone due to the connection to Bourgas port. There is also an airport on the territory of the Municipality, which is used by small charter flights. Elin Pelin town is crossed by the natural gas main and petroleum pipeline of Bulgaria. A wind power station is intended to be built in the region of Mourgash peak - private investment. The company Enetek OOD, in which the municipality has a stake, is developing a project for construction of gas-turbine installation with steam-gas cycle for generation of electric power and heat. The territory of the Municipality is crossed by the natural gas main of Bulgaria; complete conversion to natural gas in the industry has been conducted. There are two public steam plants using natural gas in the Municipality, and a third one is planned to be constructed. A major factor, which affects the development of the Municipality, is the closeness to the capital city. The natural development of Sofia and its gradual expansion in territory makes Elin Pelin Municipality a component of the metropolis of "large" Sofia.
